Robert W. Gregory is Associate Professor of Business Technology at the University of Miami Herbert Business School. His research interests center on emerging business technologies and their impact in transforming existing organizations and enabling new ways of organizing. Within management more broadly, his work connects to strategy and leadership.

His research has appeared in top-tier journals including the Academy of Management Review, Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management Information Systems, MIT Sloan Management Review, and the Journal of the AIS. He has received best-reviewer and best-associate-editor awards from AMR, ISR, and MISQ, the AIS Early Career Award (2016), and the Alcatel-Lucent Dissertation Award (2011). Robert serves as a member of the Editorial Review Board of the Academy of Management Review and as Guest Editor for the AMR Special Topic Forum on AI in Management. He has previously served as Associate Editor at Information Systems Research and as Senior Editor at the Journal of the AIS. At the University of Miami, he received the 2025 Outstanding PhD Student Mentorship Award and the 2024 Excellence in Teaching Award for online programs.

Robert holds a PhD in Management Information Systems from Goethe University Frankfurt (2010). Before joining the University of Miami in 2021, he was a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Virginia and, prior to that, Assistant Professor at IESE Business School in Barcelona. He has held visiting and executive-education appointments at IESE, the University of Virginia, Reykjavik University, the University of Göttingen, the University of Cologne, and Georgia State University.
